Obituary of Irma Lankford

Irma Lankford, Irma Lankford, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2025, surrounded by family. Irma was born in October of 1941 in Williams, Arizona, to Jacinto "Jay" and Andrea Negrete. She grew up in Fresno, California, where she lived until her marriage to Caryl Lankford in 1964. They lived in Hanford, Tulare, and Pacific Grove, until they settled in Lakeport in 1978. Irma worked for Lakeport Elementary School for over 20 years before retiring in 2007. Irma and Caryl enjoyed their years of retirement together until Caryl's passing in 2015. Irma leaves behind her children, Ron (Doris), Jeff (Megan), and Laura (Billy); grandchildren, Kailtyn (Jon), Owen, Thomas, Freya, and Iris; as well as her brother, Bill “Emo”; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers, Richard, Ruben, Roger, and sister, Lydia. A celebration of Irma's life will be held at a later date.
