Elton James Schulz
Elton James Schulz born April 28, 1941 went to be with our Lord on April 13, 2025 just days before his 84th birthday.
After acclaimed high school accomplishments in academics and athletics, he entered the Air Force and was recruited by the FBI to work as head of an intelligence unit in Scotland. He enjoyed touring Europe when on leave. He attended college with a major in business and accounting, after which he assisted his father, Frederick and mother, Irene Schulz with their logging and lumber business in Humboldt County, California. Later, he owned and operated his own logging truck.
Elton enjoyed athletics, music, mechanics, hunting, hiking and beach combing for agates. He resided in Arcata and Trinidad, California the majority of his life overlooking the Trinidad Bay from the family home.
Elton is survived by his devoted sister, Elizabeth Gatton of Visalia, California and her son, Reed Gatton and his sons, North and Skyler of McKinleyville, California, her daughter, Brooke and son-in-law, Kevin and their three daughters, Anna Marie, Sophia and Addie of Visalia California. Elton‘s brother, Vincent Schulz and his wife, Janice reside in Omaha, Nebraska and their sons, Lance, Mark and Matt married and have sons and daughters and grandchildren. Additionally, Elton has extensive generations of cousins.
Elton was well respected as he strove for excellence and was a kind honorable man, brother, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed. We will forever cherish the memories made with him. He was a true blessing to those who knew him.
