Charles W. Schreiber Jr.
Charles "Charlie" W. Schreiber Jr., 87, of Lakeport, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. He was an Air Force veteran and 40-year civil servant with the U.S. Navy. He married his beautiful wife Ingrid in 1970 and adopted her six daughters in 1973—at the time the largest single adoption in California history.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a lifelong singer in community and church choirs, Charlie also proudly served as Chaplain for the Military Funeral Honors Team of Lake County.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Ingrid; brother, Stanley (June) Schreiber of Paradise, CA; nine children, Donna (Mark) Tondro, Chuck (Danette) Morgan, Maureen (Tracy) Siler, Frederica (Doug) Langley, Sheryl (Mike) Miller, Deborah Wick, James (Tanya) Morgan, Karen (Dave) Stoney, and Tim (Stacy) Schreiber; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his children, Robert Chase and Patricia Diaz.
Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 16th Street in Lakeport on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Graveside interment will follow with Military Funeral Honors at Hartley Cemetery.
