Darlene Maye Sanders Obituary

Darlene Maye Sanders

Darlene Maye Sanders, 56, of Nice, California, passed away on November 21, 2025.

Darlene was born on April 22, 1969, in Oakland, California, to James H. Sanders and Colleen Duncan-Pete. From a young age, she possessed a natural gift for caretaking—always stepping in with a steady, loving presence for family, friends, and anyone in need. She grew up in the Bay Area, attended local schools, and later devoted much of her life to supporting her family. Throughout her life, Darlene worked in various caregiving roles, consistently choosing paths that allowed her to help others.

Darlene will be remembered for her loving and caring heart. She carried a gentle strength that people were naturally drawn to, and she never hesitated to put others before herself. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandbabies—especially taking them to the park for spontaneous barbecues, laughter, and long afternoons together. She cherished family gatherings, being outdoors, and supporting her loved ones in any way she could. Her warmth, generosity, and humor touched everyone blessed to know her.

Darlene is survived by her father, James (Sam) Sanders; her five children and their spouses, Rainey, Sallee (Mikey), Rebecca (Dustin), Ricky, and Sabrina (Victor); her bonus children, Betty, Little Man, and Lenora; and her twelve grandchildren, Michael, Sierra, Farrah, Annica, Denahi, Madison, Cali, Aniya, Colton, Avory, Baily, and Caleb.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 37 years, Richard (Rick) Warren Sr., whom she loved dearly. Her spirit, kindness, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
