Sarah Brown Garcia

Elem Indian Colony Tribal Elder, Sarah Brown Garcia, made her journey home on December 13, 2025 surrounded by her family at home in Santa Rosa, CA.

Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel with her family ensuring that she left them with memories that would last a lifetime. She honored her culture by participating in her traditional dancing and passing down traditions to her children and grandchildren to ensure that these traditions are never lost.

Sarah was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle nature touched the lives of so many. She had a love for her tribal community and serve her tribe as secretary treasurer for over twenty years. Sarah's love for the people led her to pursue a career in nursing.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Agustin Garcia; her children Sarita Garcia, Agustin Garcia, Leon Garcia, Emilia Bonds, Lena Dale, and Jordan Garcia; her grandchildren Mateo Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia, Ethan Bonds, Kailani Dale, Leilani Dale, and Agustin Garcia Jr; her son and daughter in-laws, Jericca Perez, Eric Bonds, Melvin Dale, and Angelica Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Theresa Hopper Brown and Calvin Brown; her siblings, Mable Fourkiller, Stephen Brown, Anthony Brown, Nathan Brown and Carter Brown.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
