Ronald Louis Rose
September 6, 1934 – May 7, 2026
Ronald Louis Rose, lovingly known as Ron, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on September 6, 1934, in Santa Clara, California, to Louis and Blanche Rose, Ron lived a life filled with laughter, resilience, hard work, and an unwavering love for family.
Ron proudly served his country in the California National Guard, enlisting at the age of 18 and serving until 1958. In 1957, he met the love of his life, June Bear, at Johnny Mac's Drive-In in Mountain View, where June was a carhop on rollerskates. Their love story became one for the ages, and after Ron's honorable discharge, the couple relocated to Lake County, California, where they built a beautiful life together.
Ron and June shared an extraordinary 69 years of marriage. He lovingly referred to her as his "June Bug" and "June Baby," and took immense pride in having her by his side.
A hardworking and dedicated provider, Ron was a member of Operating Engineers with Local 3 Union before founding Ron Rose Construction and later opening Ace Concrete. Ron believed deeply in hard work, integrity, and always providing for his family. Through the years, he helped train many young members of the community, teaching them skills they still use in their employment today. He took great pride in mentoring others and helping people build strong careers.
Ron had a lifelong passion for racing. He never missed an opportunity to watch his sons, Rick and Mike, race at Lakeport Speedway. As the years went on, his grandsons Roman, Dylan, and Kenny proudly joined the racing tradition, continuing a family legacy that brought generations together. Ron could always be found cheering from the stands, proud of every Rose who took to the track.
His love for racing extended far beyond Lakeport Speedway. Ron was instrumental in acquiring the land and permits that became Delbert's Memorial Racedway, a family-owned and operated go-kart track that became a place of joy, competition, and family memories for generations.
Ron was known to many as "the miracle man from God." Though he faced at least 8 to 9 serious medical issues over the years that could have taken him from us, he always found a way to recover and persevere. He often joked that he had "nine lives," and his strength, determination, and positive spirit inspired everyone around him.
Above all else, Ron treasured his family. He cherished holidays, birthdays, Sunday barbecues, and any chance to gather with the people he loved most. He often spoke of how thankful and blessed he felt to be surrounded by family.
One of the most treasured memories of Ron's final year came during Easter of 2026, when his family brought him home from the nursing facility for four hours so he could be surrounded by those he loved. With everyone gathered around him, Ron called it "the best day of his life."
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Rhonda Rose; his brother, Harold Rose; and his parents, Louis and Blanche Rose.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 69 years, June Rose; his loving children, Rick (Martha) Rose, Mike (Amber) Rose, and Deanne (Rod) Rose Padel; his brothers, Gary and Dale Rose; and Annette McCormack, a wonderful caretaker and dear friend whose compassion and care meant so much to Ron and his family.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Dustin (Amy) Mansell, Christopher Mansell (Anna Jacobson), Roman (Katie) Rose, Dylan (Bri) Rose, Cody Rose (Jake Schlosberg) Kenny Grinols (Kimberly Ussery), and Mike Padel; great-grandchildren Allie, Gracelyn, Olivia, Tyson, Jameson, Halle, Hudson, Wyatt, and Krew; nieces Cindy and Deb; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Ron lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, strength, and devotion to family. His laughter, stories, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Until we meet again, Ron — you will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
"A life well lived leaves behind a legacy of love." "God Bless You"
