Carol Rouann Prather passed away peacefully at the age of 88, leaving a legacy of love, resilience, kindness, and family.

Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend whose greatest joy was bringing family together. Known for her vibrant spirit, strength, and generous heart, she made others feel valued and loved. Whether sharing stories, offering encouragement, or simply enjoying time with those around her, she touched countless lives.

She found happiness in family gatherings, quilting, birdwatching, and creating lasting memories. An avid reader with a curious mind, Carol loved learning and embracing new ideas. Her home reflected her caring nature, filled with flowers, home-cooked meals, and hospitality. She was also a talented gardener who cultivated beautiful flower beds and thriving vegetable gardens. Carol treasured her friendships and enjoyed study club, book club, and gatherings filled with laughter and meaningful conversation. Her warmth, wisdom, and love enriched generations.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lilburn Robert Prather, in 2021; the father of her children, Richard R. White; and stepsons Darryl Prather and Donny Prather.

She is survived by her children, Richard J. White, Daniel J. White, Tama M. Buck, and Melissa M. Mabery; her siblings, Greg Smith and Kathy DeMartini; and, through her marriage to Lilburn, her stepchildren Steven Prather, Michael Prather, Gary Prather, Danny Prather, and Timothy Prather.

Her legacy lives on through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, who carry forward the love and values she shared so freely.

Though deeply missed, Carol's family celebrates a life well lived and finds comfort in the memories, lessons, and love she leaves behind. Her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
