John Thomas McIntosh Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 19, 2026, at the age of 88.

John was born on July 6, 1937, in Santa Rosa, California, the second youngest of eight children. Raised on a small farm in Sebastopol, he grew up with strong family values shaped by his parents, who were sharecroppers from Missouri of Scotch-Irish descent.

After graduating from high school, John proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force. He distinguished himself early, becoming one of the youngest to reach the rank of Airman First Class. During his service, he was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and spent three years in Japan as a ground communications equipment repairman. He was honorably discharged in 1959.

Following his military service, John attended Santa Rosa Junior College, where he met his first wife, Sharon Marshall. They were married on July 7, 1962, and together welcomed two children, Bryan and Carrie. While working for Lockheed Martin, the family made their home in Milpitas before eventually settling in Kelseyville, where Sharon’s family lived.

John built a successful career as an appliance repairman, ultimately owning and operating his own sales and repair business. For over 30 years, he faithfully served the Lake County community, earning a reputation for his skill, reliability, and friendly nature.

In 1982, John married the love of his later years, Debbie Klobas. Together they shared 45 years of marriage, during which John lovingly helped raise Debbie’s two young children, Joel and Myriah, as his own.

After retiring from appliance repair, John pursued his passion for antiques, opening several shops in Kelseyville and Lakeport. Even after closing his stores, he remained an avid collector and enthusiast.

John was an accomplished trap shooter, winning numerous competitions and earning many buckles. He was also instrumental in founding the White Rock Gun Club in Kelseyville. At home, he took great pride in gardening, becoming known for his ability to create rich compost and cultivate a thriving garden—generously sharing its bounty with family, friends, and neighbors.

Above all, John will be remembered for his kind heart and genuine warmth. He was a man who never met a stranger, always ready to strike up a conversation and make others feel welcome. He had a special love for babies and young children and brought joy to those around him throughout his life.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie McIntosh; his son, Bryan McIntosh; his daughter, Carrie McClure (Martin McClure); and his cherished granddaughters, Kira and Delaney. He is also survived by his son, Joel Klobas (Elaine Klobas), and their daughters, Ariana and Brielle; his daughter, Myriah Klobas, and her son, Dominic Manfredi. His pride in his family was unwavering, and he loved each of them deeply.

John was loved by many and will be remembered as a friend to all. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
