Edward J, Giannelli 1947-2026

Edward J. Giannelli, Beloved Husband, Loving Father, Papa Ed, Brother and

Uncle passed away peacefully at home Saturday August 29, 2026, surrounded

by his family.

Edward was born on February 17, 1947 in Buffalo, NY. He is survived by his

wife Barbara McIntyre-Giannelli, Daughter Gina Giannelli Braungart (Brian

Joka), Son Vincent Giannelli, Stepchildren Kathleen McIntyre-Peto

(Valentin) and David McIntyre. He is survived by nieces and nephews Stacy

(Bruce), Shawn (Terri), Shane, Shannon (Lindsey), Jeremiah and he was Papa

Ed to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Edward is predeceased in death by his parents Elmo Giannelli and Amelia

Giannelli (Creig), siblings Elmo Giannelli Jr, Daniel Giannelli and Diane

Rogers (Giannelli) and nephew Paul Giannelli.

Edward joined the US Marine Corps in 1964 where he proudly served in the

Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart along with many other awards. He began his career with General Motors, Tonawanda NY in 1977 and retired in 2005.

After retirement Edward and Barbara built their home together in

Lakeport, California. Edward was an avid Buffalo Bills and Brooklyn/L.A.

Dodgers Fan. Edward loved fishing, was an Astronomer and enjoyed spending

time with his family. He was also a proud member of B.P.O.E. Lakeport Elks Lodge.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Immaculate 801. North Main Street, Lakeport, CA 95453 on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Celebration at the B.P.O.E. Lakeport Elks Lodge #3775 Lakeshore Blvd., in Lakeport, CA at 12:30 PM.

An additional service for family and friends will be held at his final resting place in Buffalo, New York at a later date in October 2026.
