John Bryden Wyland

John Bryden Wyland, 76, of Upper Lake, CA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, in his home town.

Born on February 19, 1950, in White Plains, NY, John was the second of three children of parents, Ray O. Wyland and Phoebe M. Wyland, both deceased. He is survived by his sister, Carol Wyland Scudder (David), Sun City Center, FL and his brother, James H. Wyland, Naples, FL. Although John was married and divorced twice, he had no children. A Celebration of Life with family is planned.

John grew up in La Canada Flintridge, California and Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, John attended Berry College, Mt. Berry, GA. He returned to California where he joined the Army National Guard. John appreciated healthcare from the VA. John worked at a friend’s auto body shop and as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

John enjoyed cooking, gardening, and hiking. He volunteered through various Christian ministries and churches. His life verse was John 3:16. John looked forward to gatherings with family and friends.
