I knew Richard in Berkeley in the 1970’s. He was a member of a small group of us who called ourselves the Parker Street boys. It was a heady time of youth, where we all learned how to be adults together. Richard was always a good source of advice on advice on how to keep our old beater volkswagons running. We also had a boating contingent, and Richards experience as a Sea Scout was welcomed. He was the artist among us, even filming and producing a short adult movie which impressed us, having a redeeming social message along with great footage. Richard was also the photographer among us, taking the most professional photos and teaching me darkroom techniques. Our group has stayed in touch for almost 50 years and Richard has always joined in keeping us all together. I miss my Parker Street brother as I know the others do, too. Rest In Peace, Richard.
