June B. Benkelman
June B. Benkelman, born Bryant, passed away peacefully in her home on the evening of February 18, 2020, at the age of 97. June was born in San Jose on June 27, 1922. At 17 she met and married John Franklin Benkelman to whom she was married happily for 58 years.
They raised two sons, Robert and Ronald.
Until the boys were out of school, she worked in the school cafeterias, so she was known and loved by all the students. She then worked in accounting at San Jose Hospital for many years. In 1982, June and John moved to Lakeport to follow their sons and families.
June was healthy all her life until a sudden heart attack last December which her body was not able to recover from. She was preceded in death by her siblings, husband and son Robert. She is survived by son, Ronald; grandchildren, Kristen, Mindy, Shellie, Rochelle and Aimee; twelve great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Hers was a full and happy life.
