Obituary of Matthew Blair Dickert

Please share a memory of Matthew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Son of Robert H. Dickert II, Karen Tracy and Daniel R. Tracy As a Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin and invaluable friend Matt was loyal, compassionate and deeply caring. He was giving and a great problem solver with a solid perspective, always focusing on the positive with his fun sense of humor, and loved by all. He loved his family and his sweet English Springer Spaniel Brooklyn deeply. He loved his family homes in Lakeport and Paradise, and his own beautiful property with its majestic view of the lake. He found daily joy there, making every touch personal; enjoying his gorgeous sunset views, working on his garden, sailboat, photography and relishing every moment. He graduated from the International Culinary Center with a degree in Intensive Sommelier Training and enjoyed sharing anecdotes and the history of wine with his many wine clients. His intellect and passions throughout his lifetime were all encompassing of family and friends, life and music, art, great food, travel and most of all the fulfillment of being with those he loved. He enjoyed the Golden State Warriors and Dallas football, sitting bayside at a Giants game, watching a favorite movie, and taking Brooklyn on a good run. Going for a swim, reading a classic Steinbeck book or playing a favorite throwback song (tape or record!) made him happy. He had an aesthetic for nature's beauty and true sense of adventure as well as a pursuit of happiness that inspired us all. We will forever think of Matt's joys - these were the fabric of his soul and we will miss him immensely and remember him with the same joy and love he had for us. "Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide, and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart: I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)". - With Love, your Family and Friends We will post a date, time and location for a Celebration of Matthew's life in April
