Martin Lemke Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Martin Lemke, of Fernandina Beach, Florida. He died at 82 years old on May 17th, 2023. He was born on April 26th, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Harold and Faye Lemke. Martin graduated high school at Upper Lake High in 1959, and was an artisan of body and fender work and a boat captain in Hawaii.

He was a lifelong biker who enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. Martin was funny, caring, outgoing, and quite a character. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Lemke; and leaves behind his sons, Brad Lemke, Rodney Lemke, and Joseph Sweeney-Lemke; and his daughter, Martinique Lemke-Figus. He also leaves behind his 2 sisters, Marilyn Smith and Nancy Zimmerschied; grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and also, his beloved pup Elsa.

There will be a service at Upper Lake Cemetery June 17th at 4:00pm followed by a celebration of life at Upper Lake County Park from 5:30-8:30pm for anyone who would like to attend.
