John M. Ornellas

April 20, 1932 – January 17, 2024

John passed away peacefully in his home with his wife by his side.

John was born and raised in Honolulu, HI, where he met his future wife, Therese. He proudly served in the Coast Guard. They moved to Mountain View, CA in 1954 and then moved to Lake County in 1973 where the family settled into becoming proud members of the community.

John is survived by his wife, Therese – they were together for 75 years and married for 70 years. He is also survived by his 7 children, Laverne Saltz (Greg), Donna Ornellas, Cindy Chisholm (Steve), Ken Ornellas (Becky), Sharon Ornellas, Margie Briggs (Marvin), Debbie Fromberg (Curt); 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. John is predeceased by his grandson, Jesse.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Lakeport on Friday, January 26 at 1:00 PM with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery also in Lakeport.
