Emmeline Honey Joy Mitchell

Emmeline Honey Joy Mitchell “Ms. Em” was born in Lakeport, CA on April 17,1956 and passed away on October 13, 2024 at Sutter Regional Center in Santa Rosa, CA.

Em was an absolute beautiful full blooded POMO woman who was strong, funny, and amazing to be around. She never cared about any haters, she laughed and got through life no matter what. She loved to be at old Robinson blasting her music while cooking & dancing. She loved cracking jokes making everyone laugh.

Em is predeceased by her parents, Dubert and Severine Mitchell; siblings, Cheryl Mitchell, Dennis Mitchell, Sandra Mitchell, Crystal Mitchel and Jonny Mitchell; nephew, Ryan Rave; and her life partner, Don Rouse.

She is survived by her children, Erica Rouse and Robert Rouse; grandsons, Sonny and Jonny Ray; siblings, Lavonna Tapia, Eugene Mitchell, Jackie Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.

Traditional Native American Visitation will be held at her home in Lakeport on Friday, October 18, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM until Sunday night.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery on Mocking Bird Lane in Upper Lake on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
